Travelling across NRW with the new Semesterticket
With the new Semesterticket you get easy access to all buses and trains of all public transportation systems all over NRW.
The so called Semesterticket NRW doesn’t only apply to regional areas it actually reaches beyond NRW’s borders as well.
You can use the Semesterticket NRW outside of NRW on the following railway routes:
In Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen):
• From Hameln To Lüdge (KBS 363.45)
• From Hameln To Vlotho (KBS 372)
• From Ibbenbüren To Laggenbeck – Bünde (Westf) (KBS 375)
• From Osnabrück Hbf To Lengerich (Westf) (KBS 385)
• From Osnabrück Hbf To Halen (KBS 392/394)
• From Osnabrück Hbf To Westbarthausen (KBS 402)
In Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz):
• From Niederschelden Nord To Au (Sieg) (KBS 460)
• From Betzdorf (Sieg) To Struthütten (KBS 462)

Your Semesterticket NRW allows you to use any bus, tram, subway or train within the public metropolitan and suburban commuter railway system (Schienen- personennahverkehr – SPNV) in NRW. However, you are not permitted to use the first class compartments on any vehicle by any means.
The Semesterticket NRW is for you and for you only. This means you and your friends cannot share the ticket, furthermore you cannot confer the Semesterticket NRW to anyone else. The Semesterticket NRW is valid 24/7.
In order to use the Semesterticket NRW properly you always have to carry a valid picture ID (i.e. driver’s license, ID card or passport) You are not allowed to stick the Semesterticket in any kind of sealed envelope. If you are planning on taking your bike on the train you have to pay an extra charge in advance. You will be charged 40 € if you are not able to show your Semesterticket and a picture ID at a ticket control. However, you are allowed to hand in the missing document at the customer centre of the respective transportation company within one week, then you will only be charged with a maximum of 7€.
